Privacy notice

Last updated 6 Nov 2026

This notice explains what personal data Launjo handles, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do. It covers our public site, launjo.com, and the app, app.launjo.com.

Who is responsible for your data

Talk Careers OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia with registry number 17349557, of R. Tobiase tn 7-28, 10152 Tallinn, Estonia, runs Launjo. It is the controller of your personal data: it decides how and why your data is used.

For anything about your data, write to hello+privacy@launjo.com. It reaches the people at Launjo who are responsible for privacy.

What data we handle

Only what the service needs, in these categories.

  • Account: your email address, your name, how you sign in, your language, theme and email choices, and records of your sign-ins with a shortened IP address and the name of your browser.
  • Profile and CV: the CV file you upload, the details our AI reads from it, the details you confirm, edit or add, such as roles, skills, languages, location and weekly hours, and who you chose to show each part of your profile to.
  • Matching signals: your yes or no on seats and members, your matches, the suggestions we make and the reasons we give. We also turn the confirmed details you share beyond "only me" into an embedding, a list of numbers that lets us find seats that fit. It holds job titles, employers, skills and sectors, and never your name.
  • Interviews and AI outputs: what you say in a founder interview or a fit interview, the results, scores and feedback the AI writes, and any review a person at Launjo does.
  • Team workspace: chat messages, documents, checklist items and their evidence, call notes, and the team's record of who contributed what.
  • Employer invitations: if your place came from an employer's invitation, which package it came from. The employer sees only totals, never who used a place.
  • Employer contact form: your name, work email, organisation, a rough number of people and your message.
  • Waitlist: your email address, and when you confirmed it.
  • Technical and security records: an audit record of important actions, with a shortened IP address and no names or email addresses; counters that limit repeated attempts, kept under a one-way hash of the address or IP address; and technical logs, which leave out names, email addresses, CV text and sign-in links.

We never ask why you are looking for a team, and there is no field anywhere for your employment status.

A CV or an interview can hold anything you choose to write or say, including things about your health or beliefs, and details about other people. We don't ask for any of it, and matching doesn't use it. Leave out what you'd rather we didn't handle.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

Data protection law requires a legal basis for each use of your data. These are ours.

  • To provide the service you signed up for, which is our contract with you: your account and sign-in, building your profile from your CV, showing each part of your profile only to the people you chose, matching, interviews, team workspaces, and emails about your account and your matches.
  • With your consent, which you can withdraw at any time: keeping your CV file for longer than 90 days, if we offer that choice; analytics cookies, if we ever use any; optional surveys, such as the fairness survey; and the waitlist.
  • For our legitimate interests, which we have weighed against yours: keeping the service secure and stopping abuse and bots, to protect members and the service; keeping error and audit records, to find faults and to show what happened without naming anyone; and improving the service from totals and records that name nobody, so that Launjo works better for members. You can object to any of these.
  • To meet a legal obligation: keeping accounting records, if we ever charge you, and answering lawful requests from authorities.
  • To answer an employer enquiry: our legitimate interest in replying to organisations that contact us, or the steps you asked for before an agreement with us.

AI and decisions about you

Launjo uses AI models to read your CV into a draft profile, to suggest seats and teammates and say why, to run founder and fit interviews, and to advise teams in their workspace. We never use your data to train AI models, and neither do the model providers.

AI suggests, people choose. Everything an AI writes is labelled as AI, and you can accept it, edit it or dismiss it. AI never sends a message, votes, locks a team, marks work done or shares your CV.

A fit interview ends in a recommendation, and you see it first. If it is a good fit, a person on the team reads it and decides. If it is not a good fit, the team never sees it, and no person on the team decides. Because that result comes from the AI alone, you can ask a person at Launjo to review it from the result page. You can explain your view, and the person can change the result. People at Launjo may also check a sample of results.

What matching never uses

Matching uses only the confirmed details you share, such as roles, skills, sectors, languages, location and weekly hours, and what each seat needs. It never uses:

  • your age or date of birth, gender, nationality, or marital or family status
  • photos
  • your employment status, or why a job ended
  • health, beliefs or anything similar that you may have mentioned
  • parts of your profile you keep to yourself, AI drafts you haven't confirmed, or anything you shared with one team only

Who else handles your data

These service providers handle data for us, as processors, under data processing agreements. We choose EU locations wherever a provider offers them.

  • Vercel Inc. (US): hosts the site and the app, and runs our server functions in Frankfurt. Its AI Gateway sends AI requests to the model providers below.
  • Neon (US), through Vercel: our database, in Frankfurt. Profiles, matches, interviews, chat, documents and the checklist are stored here.
  • Anthropic (US), for its Claude models: reading CVs, interviews and advice for teams. We reach Claude through Vercel's AI Gateway on Amazon Web Services (Bedrock) or Google Cloud (Vertex AI) servers in the EU, with zero data retention, so requests are not kept after the answer, and no training on your data.
  • OpenAI (US), through Vercel's AI Gateway: turns shared profile details, seats and ideas into embeddings for matching. Requests run on servers in the EU and are never used for training. OpenAI keeps them in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days.
  • Resend (US): sends our emails, such as sign-in links, notifications and waitlist confirmations, and keeps the waitlist.
  • Cloudflare (US): runs our domain names and forwards email sent to our addresses. Its Turnstile check tells people from bots on our forms.

Team chat and live documents run on our own software and are stored in our own database, not with a chat or document provider.

We use no analytics or error-reporting service today. If we add one, we will name it here before it starts, and ask for your consent before any analytics cookie is set.

Others who may see your data: other members, only what you chose to show them, part by part; a team, what you share with it after you both say yes; an employer that paid for your place, only totals for groups of 5 or more, never your name, your matches or who stepped back; when a locked team decides to form a company, the licensed formation partner the team hands its details to, which is then responsible for them; and authorities, when the law requires it.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.

Transfers outside the EU

We store your data in the EU, and AI requests are pinned to servers in the EU wherever a provider offers that. Vercel, Neon, Anthropic, OpenAI, Resend and Cloudflare are US companies, as are Amazon and Google, whose servers run Claude for us. Some data may be reached from the US, for example for support or security.

Where that is a transfer out of the EU, it is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for providers certified under it, and otherwise by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in the provider's data processing agreement. Write to hello+privacy@launjo.com for a copy of the safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Account and profile: until you delete your account. When you ask us to, your account is hidden straight away, and teams lose your interview summaries and scores. After 30 days we delete your account, profile, CV files, matches, interviews and embeddings for good. Until then we can undo it if you ask.
  • CV files: deleted 90 days after you upload them, or sooner if you delete them yourself. What was read from a file stays in your profile until you change or delete it.
  • Interview transcripts: emptied 12 months after the interview's last activity, together with the quotes and written feedback taken from them. The recommendation and the numeric scores stay with your account. A transcript is kept longer only while a review by a person is pending, and a team that is still deciding on a good fit keeps its summary until it decides.
  • Sign-ins: a sign-in ends after 24 hours without use, and 30 days after you signed in at the latest. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes.
  • Counters that limit repeated attempts: a day at most.
  • Team workspace: chat messages, documents, checklist items and the record of contributions belong to the team, so they stay with it when you leave or delete your account. They then show you as a former member.
  • Audit records: kept without an end date, because they show what happened. They hold no names or email addresses, and once your account is deleted nothing we hold connects them to you.
  • Employer enquiries: up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless we start working together.
  • Waitlist: until 12 months after Launjo opens to everyone, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. Until you confirm your address, it is not on the list. The confirmation email itself stays in our email provider's logs for a limited time.
  • Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited time.
  • Accounting records, if we ever charge you: 7 years, as Estonian law requires.

We don't delete unused accounts automatically today. If we start, we will say so here first and email you before deleting anything.

Your rights

Data protection law gives you these rights. To use any of them, write to hello+privacy@launjo.com from the email address on your account, or use the tools in the app where they exist.

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct your profile yourself at any time, or ask us to correct anything else.
  • Erasure: delete your CV file from your profile yourself. To delete your whole account, write to us. A way to do it in the app is coming.
  • Restriction: ask us to pause using your data while a question about it is settled.
  • Portability: ask for the data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format. A download in the app is coming.
  • Objection: object to any use based on our legitimate interests. We then stop, unless we have compelling grounds that override your interests.
  • Withdrawing consent: at any time, as easily as you gave it, for example with the unsubscribe link in every waitlist email. It doesn't affect what we did before.
  • Review by a person: ask a person at Launjo to review a fit interview result, from the result page.

We answer within one month. If a request is complex, or we receive many, we may take up to 2 more months, and we will tell you why within the first month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Cookies

The cookie notice lists every cookie we set. We set no analytics cookies today.

Complaints

We'd like to hear from you first at hello+privacy@launjo.com, but you don't have to. You can complain to the Estonian data protection authority, Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (aki.ee), or to the authority where you live or work.

Age

Launjo is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it, and we don't knowingly handle data about anyone younger. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

When we change this notice, we change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
